The international studies major who knows her way around a Word doc
“There’s nothing like graduating from an elite private school whose professors tell you that you are the future leaders of America and then getting turned down for assistant positions that pay 30,000 dollars a year. I did end up getting a job that in many ways I loved, although much of it was administrative and it paid very little. My time at that job provided a whole new type of fodder for sarcastic musings about the painful disconnect between spending your time in school studying the major ideas of our time, and then getting a job where the most appreciation you get is from helping coworkers format documents in Microsoft Word.”
