Apparently, some of us are in fact hirable

Bee Shaffer and Anna Wintour

The impeccably dressed mother and daughter.

Bee Shaffer, fellow ’09 Columbia grad and daughter of Vogue Editor Anna Wintour, is officially employed.

Gawker reports that she is the new assistant to Ricky Van Veen, the young millionaire founder and editor in chief of College Humor. She will be helping him with his new venture at Barry Diller’s IAC, where Veen will serve as chief executive of Notional, a CollegeHumor spinoff production company with web and TV programming for all demographics, including girls.

And before snickering abounds, she reportedly went through the interview process with no preferential treatment. “She’s not afraid to do bitch work,” a source tells Guest of a Guest. This is not surprising: I’ve heard similar praise from friends who had classes with her.

Bee, Alma Mater would be proud. Maybe you’ll be around to help the less successful of us for an informational interview sometime?
